The Big Rapids Housing Commission strives to bring affordable housing to Big Rapids. In October 2024, the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) doubled the Housing Commission's Missing Middle Housing grant from $475,000 to $950,000!  These funds will be used to help with construction costs for the last five homes on Mechanic Street.
